Call for Content Blenderart #25

It’s time again to start thinking about articles, tutorials and images for Issue # 25 of Blenderart Magazine.

The theme for this issue is “Winter Wonderland”.

With winter fast approaching, I thought it would be fun for everyone to flex some creative energy creating cold winterly scenes.

Winter is filled with fun outdoor activities as well as quite a few holidays. So let’s “chill out” and create our own “Winter Wonderland”.

We are looking for:

  • Winter characters and scenes
  • Winter sports and activities (scenes, images, animations, games)
  • Winter holidays (scenes, images, animations, games)

Also wanted, great shaders, materials and node setups for great looking materials and effects.

  • Hey artists,

Why don’t you write an article about all the possible fora, blogs, sites and summery of information you can find on the net and also ventilate some ‘netiquette’? Maybe this has already been done, making this mail obsolete and to be disregarded but I’ve worked my way trough several issues of blenderart already and haven’t found such an article yet, so… Info like this might add to the general knowledge of blender noobs and pro’s, as it would be a nice reference. Just an idea and as we all know, it all starts with a good idea.

“All the tinkering in the world will result in nothing if it doesn’t start off with a good idea. One idea will lead to another and before you know it … Voila, you have your invention.”

(Quote Mr Bigweld, Robots, Dreamworld pictures)

Also want to add that your magazine is fantastic, the blend files and pictures are marvelous and I haven’t had one single regret form choosing the Blender Path, your efforts being part of this general pleased feeling.

Kind regards and all the best,

    Hewi

  • It’s been a great idea to have some Winter Wonderland.
Now, talking about the holidays, it would be very nice to have some nativity scenes.
Very few resources of such an important holiday are around the web.
    I’ve found this one: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-nativity-scene/421355
But I bet you blender guys can outperform this one ;)

    Kind regards,
    happy holidays,
    Daniel

With global warming it would be nice to know how to produce the ice (in 3D with light, texture and render) before it is completely gone :)
