A Fresh New Look

When you dropped by to pick up the latest issue of BAM, I’m betting you noticed things look a little different. Over the last few months, our webmaster Nam, has been hard at work creating a fresh new look for us. He created a great look with some slick new effects.

While re-designing our site he also fixed the semi random “corrupt file” problem that has been plaguing us for some time. In addition to a new look and site code cleanup, Nam has also added a great new service, sure to be of use for many of you. Blenderart Magazine can now be readily read online. Hows that for service. Now you can get your Blenderart fix without waiting for the file to download.

To read Blenderart Magazine online, just click on the “READ IT ONLINE” text link found right underneath each issue title. Couldn’t be easier. So wander around and check out our new look and features.

now all is way more readable but, talking in this crisis times, all of this white means much more energy waste – I would suggest an alternate choice to the user to invert background and foreground colors to be more ‘green’ :)

  • Great job, Nam. The site has a professional look now.

Looks great; but I want to download the issue rather than read it online, since I don’t have internet access from my own computer. Is it still possible to download an issue? I don’t seem to have worked it out…..

Thanks for the kind words. I did it for you guys!!

@ivo: hmmm green? Maybe I’ll change the text and background to black. :P

@Gary: Yes, you can download the file on the right side of each corresponding issue. Just click on the title to drop the issue down of past issues.

    Hello there!

The new website look is awesome, I love it! Just one remark though: Put a link to the homepage on the blender art magazine logo on top of the page ;-)

Have a nice day and keep up the great work!

    Sébastien.

@ludovic: That would be an awesome idea, though we’ll have to ask the creator of the image…but that would be a great idea for future issues…

@Quillog: Thanks, you are beautiful too!

Actually Ivo, with most people now using LCD monitors its actually more ‘green’ to keep it white, as they have a permanent backlight. However this difference is so small it should not even be thought of in the design process.
