It’s time again to start thinking about articles, tutorials and images for Issue # 14 of Blenderart Magazine.
In this issue we are focusing on ‘Cartoon Modeling and Game Engine’.
We are looking for tutorials, “making of” articles, and projects of interest that focus on either Cartoon Modeling or the Game Engine.
So gather up your:
Adorable/odd characters
Scenes in realistic or Toon shading
Any game you are working on creating
Low poly models
Game Levels
How to’s on game AI/game play
Also wanted, great shaders, materials and node setups for great looking Toon/Game materials and effects.

Im from venezuela, id like a material reference guide, and how to setup the main material using texture, nodes, and differece bewteen materials rendered in BLEND.internal and YAFRAI.
when i say material reference i refer to material properties and diference of the same materials rendered in both RENDERS.
Other thing, i havent really read all the issues, but id like to know hot to realyy use material node, is like the hiden heart of blender.
The correct deadline would be January 5, 2008? Right?
You’re asking for fantasy shaders. Doesnt that belong to last issue?
My bad, all fixed now. That’s what I get for doing a quick copy paste.
no, im not asking for that, somethin like a material properties… water, kind of waters, metal, kind of metals, and both properties in the internal REND. engine and Yafrai.
it to be mo accurate on the material rendering process…
Now that is a good idea. But I would have to find a yafray partner to help set it up. I have never used yafray.
include a dinosaurs proyect, with te manage of complex materials and skins, that’s interesting. imagine everytypes of Dinosaurs, Trex etc.
I’m looking forward to this very much. My dream is to produce something with a look that resembles Japanese anime. And yes, I’m working on a storyline.
Would you be interested in how this was made:

Pam, what codec did you use for this? When I download it, I don’t see anything.

id like to help with it, but im just a end user gomen…but i like to test things and give opinions, the perfect way to start is to study it using its physics(real world material and understanding) that has to be in some BUILDER BOOK, or architec, somethin like taht, after that traduce that to yafrai or internet BLENDEr, it could like a ARTICLE present in every blenderart magazine issue
Like 5 materials this issue, in both ENGINES (interal & yafray)
i had a problem with blender rightnow, id like a contact o email to ask for help…really…
If you are having problems, you can contact me @

Isent u and email Sandra, thanks for it
ill be waiting for your response
I have a fully rigged “odd” cartoon-ish character called OSCAR available for free download over on blenderartists.org.
Not sure if this fits the criteria of the magazine but you are free to include it in the issue if you want. OSCAR is free for personal and commercial use.
Drop me an email if it does.

I would love to see an issue dedicated to effects with particles and volumetric smoke, fire/fog as well as a way to simulate fluids!
Is it possible to make the screenshots clearer so that you can actually read the settings. e.g. the tut on making a flame was very hard to read and in most cases you (I) had to guess the settings. So, please, have this in mind in the next issues.
thanks
Every BlenderArtMagazine is excelent,I learn a lot from every new Issue,I think that BAM is one of the best CG magazines in the world, and when my web presentation will be finish I will put LINK to blenderart.org.
Best wishes to NEW 2008,to all who help in making of any Issue of BAM, AND TO ALL GOOD PEOPLE who write all tutorials.
Shane, I would love to include your character/rig. How would you feel about having it in the next issue? We will be covering animtion in issue #15.
Thats great, Sandra.
Email me if you need any further info or details on OSCAR.
Happy new year!
Shane
Question: When is the next issue coming out? I’m looking forward to it!
Next issue should release in about a week or so. Gaurav is doing layout now.
Probably too late, but there were some great posts about toon/ink nodes over at http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=114784, but the blend file itself was never posted. A feature length article on the subject would be great, along with files for download.
I would love to get some help about making an animated movie for this: http://www.hennyjellema.nl/taal/sprookjes/sprookjes.htm
I think it would be wonderful to have another classic movie made by Blender stuff and that I can add my educative stuff to it.
But I have no idea how to make such a movie. Maybe somebody else likes classic fairytales too and we can work together?
Mvg, Henny Jellema
